After we published a photograph of a group of bus trippers and appealed for more information, Joan Ford got in touch. Joan said: "The trip shows a Granville Tours coach. The driver is on the extreme left of the picture and he is my late father, Noel Whitworth.
What kind of an unjust country are we all living in when we have a cesspit of a non-listening Government who came to power with the phoney clarion call "Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime" (More of Blair's lies)? We now have the unsavoury pair - unelected Baroness Scotland and Jack (the council tax claimer) Straw running and ruining our justice legal system.
All this moaning about dropping the speed limit to 50mph in the countryside, what's wrong with 50mph? It's fast enough for lots of country lanes - I find them just right for a nice steady drive. Let's not turn them into a race track.
Can I nominate the person who stole my son's black and blue Raleigh mountain bike out of our back garden on the night of June 24/ 25, as Rat of the Week. He hadn't had it long and we had bought him it secondhand to travel to school as he's 10 years old.

In answer to the correspondent and their support for the Beachcomber, he/she rightly reminds us of its service to our community and its visitors over many years. Indeed, at one time, it held its place as a functional venue alongside the Pier and the Cafe Dansant, let alone the Winter Gardens.
Many thanks to the community wardens for handing out dog poo bags. They do a great job at keeping the streets cleaner, and are a very pleasant band of lads and lasses.
I Agree with your correspondent about cyclists not obeying the Highway Code. On Saturday morning, June 27, I was driving up Victoria Street, Grimsby, and turned into the one-way section to prepare to turn right into Town Hall Square.
There is little surprise that Grimsby Leisure Centre, on Cromwell Road, is possibly going to close down. I have just had stones thrown at me by youths standing on a building there, and every evening they are there shouting obscenities at passers-by.
