A POPULAR Grimsby woman, described as a "stalwart" of the voluntary and local family history circuit, has died. The family of Eileen Emptage has paid tribute after she died last Saturday, aged 71, following a long battle with ovarian cancer.

RECENT pictures of local darts teams prompted George Moore, of Waltham, to send us this photograph. It shows the National Dock Labour Board darts team from 1949, when they won the McPhillany Trophy. George said: "It has taken 30 years for an NDLB team, which is made up of Grimsby and Immingham dockers, to repeat that success when they won at Liverpool this year."
