Edmonds Boys See Off Matric in Style

IN a remarkable week in the RCS Landscapes Intermediate Snooker League none of the leading contenders managed a win - leaving it as tight at the top as ever. After a poor season, Ray Edmonds B faced challengers Matric and showed some of their old form with Chris Sutton and John Ashford- Smith winning their two frames.

Craig Makes the Second Round ; Inbrief

CRAIG Waddingham continues to make progress in his first season on the pro pool circuit - reaching the second round of the Strachan International Tour event in Hinckley. The 22-year-old, who plays for the Phoenix Club in the Grimsby Pool League, comfortably beat 83rd-ranked Ron Sharpe in the first round of the tournament before giving eighth-seed Lee Kendall a run for his money - eventually losing 7-4. The event was won by top- seed and three-time world 8-ball pool champion, Gareth Potts.

GRIMSBY RUFC's Under-15s closed their season with a match against a touring team from Harlow. After a very hard-fought game, Harlow, who had won their league in Essex this season, won the match 22-8. Grimsby's try came from Gareth Roberts and Jordan Salthouse added a penalty.

A TETNEY man who suffers with learning disabilities has found work thanks to a new college course. Matthew Coulbeck, 20, suffers from Aspergers syndrome, a form of autism which affects how a person makes sense of the world, processes information and relates to other people.
