REGARDING the British Broadcasting Corporation, it is legally bound to be politically unbiased yet it may as well rename the programme Question Time to Vote Labour with the irritating David Dimbleby constantly interrupting any Conservative panellists. I also remember when Noel Gallagher, of Oasis, said on Parkinson that "the only thing wrong with drugs is that they make you hungry".

WELL done to Lord Cameron, of Westminster, for giving a veto to the latest proposals from dreaded EU leaders as they didn't meet with his approval. Can we now expect his next move to cancel our membership of this very expensive club and go it alone with our own currency and budgets? The savings in payments to the EU alone would avoid having to borrow billions of pounds to keep our country running. No! I thought not. IN reply to Leslie Jacklin's letter, I have lived in Great Coates 41 years and I am not in agreement with borrowing Pounds 300,000 to build a new village hall. It will not be self-funding as no one will support it after the initial opening.

I WONDER if anybody else has had their lives blighted because a local residential property is allowed to have a commercial use. How do we quantify this blight, and how do we compensate for this blight? Certainly not through the present council tax system, that is for sure, or appeal.
Battling It Out for Top Advice ; Nine Firms Shortlisted in Business Competition
THE Grimsby Telegraph today announces the nine local businesses - including a handyman, locksmith and cabinet maker - that have made the shortlist in the Local Business Accelerators competition. The nationwide campaign, which was launched last month by regional and local newspapers across the country and backed by Prime Minister David Cameron and Dragon's Den star Deborah Meaden, will see 1,500 firms receive Pounds 15-million of free advertising to help boost their businesses in 2012.
