A LOCAL acrobat will challenge an Australian act to a stilt jump- off - after feeling like his stilts were "kicked from under him" when the council hired them instead of him.
Chris Sheard, 37, of Granville Street, is an acrobatic stilt jumper who performs spectacular tricks on his fibreglass-spring stilts, including back flips up to two metres in the air. He has performed at local events for free, including previous Cleethorpes Carnivals and a St Andrew's Hospice fundraising event. But North East Lincolnshire Council has hired Icarus Roo'd, a stilt-jumping act from Australia, to do the same work on the seafront tomorrow, prior to the parade.See the full content of this document
