Summary


WORRIED father Kevin Thomas grabbed a knife to protect himself after going round to check his daughter had not been attacked by her boyfriend, Grimsby magistrates heard.

Thomas, 48, of Gilbey Road, Grimsby, admitted possessing a kitchen knife in public and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour on January 5. Debbie Sanders, prosecuting, said Thomas was shouting and swearing about his daughter's boyfriend outside a house in Mill Road, Cleethorpes, and yelled: "I'm going to have you," telling a neighbour he had a knife.
