GRIMSBY Town caretaker boss Neil Woods was pleased with the character his players showed to put in an improved second-half performance against league leaders Bournemouth on Saturday. Woods' first game in charge ended in a 3-1 defeat, but he feels there are positives to take from the game into Friday night's clash against Accrington Stanley at Blundell Park.

Alan Connell and Paul Linwood's own goal put the Cherries 2-0 up at the break, but Linwood's header five minutes into the second half pulled a goal back for the Mariners.
