BUSINESSES may be suffering during the economic downturn but the number of apprentices recruited by Humberside Engineering Training Association (Heta) indicates that most are continuing to plan for the future.

September will see Heta welcome a record 245 new apprentices at its three centres in Stallingborough, Scunthorpe and Hull - 60 of whom will be there as the result of Heta's new contract with the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board.
