SORRY I missed the live debate with Councillor Burgess, but I would like to ask your readers if they can remember snowploughs being used on side roads in the bad winter in the 1980s (I think 1987)? Councillor Burgess stated that they do not and have never used snowploughs on side roads. I can remember one coming up Foxhill, Wybers Wood in the 1980s - this is a side road off a side road. Perhaps councillors should check records before they make such bold statements.
May I also take the time to thank the bus drivers - the services may be erratic, but at least they were still running and having to deal with piles of snow, cars parked, impatient drivers and the debacle of the car park at the bus station.See the full content of this document
