TALKING of Tesco reminded me of the colleague who had arranged to meet her husband and children in town after work before stopping off at the supermarket on the way home.

But rather than make firm arrangements like we used to do before mobile phones (I'll meet you outside M&S at 2pm), mobile phones mean we enjoy flexibility and reduce the risk of leaving people waiting by calling when we're on our way.
