Summary
GARDENERS, more than anyone except perhaps farmers, are very conscious of the weather. There's been a lot of talk about what a poor summer we're having, in spite of the fact that the long-range forecast was so good. Actually, we've had lots of warm sunny days, but they've been broken up by showery, cloudy ones. Because we haven't had settled weather since June, it's affected our impression of how the weather has behaved.
This type of weather is much better for gardeners than long hot spells when it's difficult to keep plants alive, or constantly wet ones when it's too miserable to do anything.See the full content of this document
