WHAT a shock and wonderful surprise it was to read about the council Conservatives' package of aid for the elderly, as agreed as an amendment in the budget.

As co-ordinator of Grimsby Dial-a-Ride I know how difficult it is to raise funds to keep our fleet of minibuses on the road and the impossible task of replacing them.
