REFERRING to the Alternative Vote, MP Austin Mitchell says that "In Oz it produces a 'donkey vote', an advantage of up to 10 per cent for candidates whose names begin with A because less interested voters list 1-2-3 down the ballot paper" (Westminster Watch, June 14).
