cortisol. The net effect of being permanently stressed or stimulated is that more cortisol will be produced. Too much cortisol leads to breakdown of bone, contributing to osteoporosis and muscle loss.

The net result of stress or a diet too high in sugar and refined carbohydrates is an inability to keep blood sugar levels stable. This is known as dysglycemia. When you eat sweet foods, your blood sugar levels shoot up. The body then has to produce more insulin to get the sugar out of the blood and into body cells.
