Summary
THE other day, after dropping a friend off for an appointment, I parked on the prom (middle of December, not the height of the tourist season) near Wonderland just after 9am.
There was one other car in the distance belonging, I assumed, to a man who I saw fishing. I just got onto the beach with my dogs when a council van appeared and got out to look in my car. I asked could I help and was I expected to pay? The prompt reply was, "Yup, seven days a week, 52 weeks of the year!" I gathered my somewhat confused dogs, got back in the car and drove off the prom.
