LONG-STANDING planning committee member, Councillor Robert Palmer, has tendered his resignation over the decision.

Councillor Palmer spoke against the application as ward member raising concerns about the loss of grade one and two agricultural land and also about the disruption to nesting birds and rare plants including bees, marsh and pyramid orchids. Speaking after the meeting he said: "I am the most senior member, by length of term served, on ELDC's planning committee and I have watched it develop and now disintegrate and I am extremely upset.
