Summary


THIS large, austere-looking, Anglican church, once stood in Ayscough Street facing Corporation Road. It's high roofline could be seen from most of Corporation Road.

It opened for services in October 1888 at a cost of Pounds 5,000 with the Reverend HGC North-Cox as its first vicar.

In 1907, two further bays were added bringing the entrance porch, with its east and west doors surrounded by high iron railings, much closer to Corporation Road.
