HER own battle with cancer is the inspiration behind a Grimsby woman organising a charity walk in Humberston.

Karen Wivell, 45, of Evesham Avenue, and her daughter Maria, 22, are organising a crocus walk to raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. More than 50 people have already signed up for the 4.3-mile walk, which starts at the Trawlerman pub, North Sea Lane, on Saturday, July 3. The Avon-backed walk is the first of its kind to be held in Grimsby, and will also take place in many other parts of the country.
