THE inquest into the death of a Grimsby man - killed in Nigeria after a gang of looters attacked him - has recorded a verdict of unlawful death. As reported, mechanical engineer Tony Linley, 60, of Grosvenor Crescent, died on March 23, 2007, while he was living and working Lagos as a contractor.

The hearing at Cleethorpes Town Hall heard how the father-of- four had been in Nigeria for 27 years and had been tackling a massive blaze at his workplace when he tried to fend off looters - but was assaulted.
