"I'VE been here for 26 years and I've seen the school evolve over that time. I think this is the most exciting change Whitgift will ever go through."
Those were the words of Mark Rushby, principal of Whitgift, as he officially announced that the school will become The John Whitgift Academy from September 1. The move has finally been rubber-stamped by the Government's Academy Conversion Board, meaning the Crosland Road school will no longer be under Local Authority control, removing the threat of closure it faced as a result of the Willows schools reorganisation proposals.See the full content of this document
