AT Pounds 1,600 per hour to operate, is the police helicopter a criminal waste of money? That is the question being asked today after it was revealed that Oscar 99 - Humberside Police's helicopter - was deployed to 729 incidents in North East Lincolnshire between January 1 and November 17 last year - costing approximately Pounds 339,200.
The information was revealed following a Freedom of Information request by the Grimsby Telegraph, prompting North East Lincolnshire Councillor Stewart Swinburn (Cons, Immingham) to question whether the money may be better spent elsewhere.See the full content of this document
