THIS photograph was shown to us by Iris Easton (nee Yarworth), of Seamer Grove, Grimsby. Iris told us: "I decided to send it in after reading about making Freeman Street great again. "I worked at Lipton's, which was at 94 Freeman Street, and I was manageress throughout the war. "Freeman Street was well looked after and full of great grocery stores.
To name a few there was Burgons, Maypole Meadow Dairy, Gallons, Tates, Arnolds and Robertsons. "I enjoyed my job, and still see one or two of my customers from that time.
