IN response to the letter Costly Weekend Work? by Pauline Plumridge, of South View, Humberston, this week. In 2003, residents' perception of the streets in North East Lincolnshire was that they were dirty and unkempt, particularly in the town centres.
The council responded to this and other complaints by embarking on a new regime of providing essential neighbourhood services seven days per week, 362 days a year. This was partly to combat the litter and mess created by nigh-time revellers.See the full content of this document
