I last had the pleasure of seeing this Big Band play during the Summer, when a new Bandmaster, Retired Major Paul Murrell (Ex No 1 Bandmaster for the British Army), had just been appointed, and I have to say what a difference he has made to the band in a very short time. The ensemble work is much tighter, the soloists appear to play with far more confidence and what a coup by securing the services of the excellent international singing superstar Gary Grace.

Mr Murrell's influence has been reflected in the variety of differing styles and genres of Big Band Tunes that are now on offer, ranging from Glen Miller and Artie Shaw, to the challenging arrangement that Sam Nestico penned for the Basie Band.
