A Scunthorpe singer has vowed to keep making music after he was kicked off at the boot camp stage of ITV1's X Factor. Ashley Pridgeon, a 25-year-old singer/songwriter who auditioned in Manchester, performed on national television at the weekend, after making it through the first two rounds of auditions.

Ashley, who is known to his friends as Bash, appeared on the popular TV show on Sunday night when he sang in front of judges - Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh - in a group of fellow singers who had to take it in turns to sing a part of Lady Gaga's hit Born This Way.
