A 16-YEAR-OLD and an ex-soldier were among a group of thugs who appeared in court for their parts in the violence that marred Grimsby Town's match against Burton Albion last season.

The Mariners supporters, who rallied against Brewers' fans at the match at the Pirelli Stadium on May 8 this year, appeared for sentencing before Burton Magistrates' Court yesterday. They were each given football banning orders, which prevent them from attending any football match in England and Wales, or certain matches played abroad, for varying lengths of time.
